FACULTY OF VETERINARY

The University of Córdoba (UCO) is a Spanish academic institution with over 200 years of history. UCO is well known for its expertise in Natural Sciences, offering diplomas in Veterinary Medicine, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture and Forestry. UCO also hosts the headquarters of the International Campus of Excellence in Agri-food Sciences (ceiA3), an integration of 5 research institutions with a wide scientific experience in the agribusiness sector. The UCO Faculty of Veterinary Science was founded in 1846, being one of the the oldest and most prestigious veterinary colleges in Spain. It currently offers degrees in Veterinary Medicine and Food Sciences, along with a large range of Masters and postgraduate diplomas. 

DAIRY SMALL RUMINANT LABORATORY

The Dairy Small Ruminant Laboratory is one of the main research pillars of the Department of Animal Science in UCO. Since its creation in 2001, the research team has provided continuous specialised training on dairy science, and also has developed different lines of research focused on milk processing and cheese production.

RESEARCH FACILITIES

Established with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), facilities include full equipment for milk chemical analysis, monitoring of rennet coagulation, enzymatic analysis, milk color indexes, electrophoresis and densitometry, as well as infrastructure for processing and ripening of experimental cheeses.
